Recommended Directions for Applying Printed Stickers and Labels
CLEAN SURFACE:  The surface should be clean of dust, grit or oils.  Alcohol or a solvent cleaner may be used on non-painted surfaces, but should be tested in an out of sight area first. Oils from your hands can contaminate the surface and adhesive.
FIRM PRESSURE:  The adhesive is activated with pressure. Applying the label from one side to the other will help prevent air from being trapped under it.
WARM TEMPERATURES:  Adhesive sticks better and cures better in warm temperatures. It will also stick better if the surface is textured.  Cold temperatures will cause the adhesive to have less tack and it will tale longer to cure. It is recommended that the label and surface temperature be between 70-90°F before applying.  When storing labels, keeping them between 60-90°F is recommended.
GIVE THEM TIME:  The pressure of applying a label begins the curing process.  The adhesive will become stronger over time and will fully cure in about 1-2 weeks.
GIVE THEM AS A GIFT:  What Volvo fan wouldn't love one of these as a birthday present or in a Valentines day love basket. They also make great Christmas hamper gifts or even just to say, “Hey, you have an awesome Volvo. Here is an awesome sticker.”  Whatever holiday or whenever or where ever you want to give the gift of stickers is a great time to give these stickers.


VINYL STICKERS (Gloss Laminated)
     When I first designed the Volvo Prancing Moose in 2005, it was intended to be a parody of the Ferrari horse emblem shown on the right.   It was a tongue 'n' cheek way of having some fun with a Volvo... at Ferrari's expense of course. The sticker became popular and the selection has now grown to more than 70 different designs with several variations of each design.  It's out of control!
ABOUT STICKER QUALITY:  This is my 4th year producing these stickers and you'll see that quality is EXCEPTIONAL! 





 
I offer all these stickers (and more... scroll down!).  All stickers are printed on very durable adhesive backed VINYL and have a professional grade clear UV poly laminate over the front.  They are waterproof and will resist the sun for years.  They are available in numerous styles and sizes.

These stickers may be placed on a bumper, window, or on your paint.   I also offer a MAGNETIC BACKING option for those who wish to stick them to a steel panel without adhesive.

Understanding how this whole moose thing evolved.
Moose History 101:  When the XC90 debuted in 2003, Volvo organized several test drive events, where quite a few Volvo fans came out to see and drive the new SUVs on fast cone slalom courses.  Volvo was showing off their new and advanced Dynamic Stability Traction Control (DSTC), a first of its kind for an SUV.  One of the courses was a special slalom, where a professional driver would take a carload of folks, accelerate to a high speed (60 mph if I recall correctly), keep his foot firmly planted on the gas... to the floor, and then crank the wheel as fast as he could one direction, then the other through a set of cones.  This dangerous maneuver simulated the avoidance of an obstacle in the road, such as a moose.  The DSTC was truly an amazing feature.  Many other tall vehicles would have certainly become unstable and possibly lost control, spun out or even rolled over during such an extreme maneuver, but the Volvo's DSTC took over and kept the SUV in perfect form without a hint of trouble. Even with the driver's foot to the floor, the DSTC aggressively controlled the throttle and all four brakes, each brake independently, to keep the vehicle straight and stable.  Volvo was calling this course the "Moose Avoidance Test."  

A couple years later, when Volvo began showing their new SUV at various car expos, one of them was sporting a moose sticker on its fender (see photo at right). It was a cartoon-like standing moose profile.   This concept inspired me to design the first Volvo Prancing Moose sticker in January 2005, which went on my fenders for the 2005 SoCalEuro Meet in Anaheim, California (it was later named the 5 inch type A sticker).  After that meet, I received many requests for that sticker, so I began making a few. Now I have more styles than I can count.  So if you own a Volvo and have a sense of humor, these stickers are required for your car.  If you never smile when driving, adding one to your car will fix that.  And as you can see, they are also available for our SAAB cousins and many other makes of cars.  Moose stickers are turning up on many cars, trucks, motorcycles, helmets, and even buses!

Printed vinyl stickers are also available with Magnetic Backing
Magnetic backing is .030" (0.75 mm) magnet thickness. 
They will definitely stay on your car on the highway (see customer comments above). 
The magnetic back option will add $1.00 to each sticker
Magnetic Backing Caution:
A few customers have complained that the magnetic backed stickers began to glue themselves to their paint after a long time on the car, leaving a residue on the paint that was hard to remove.  When I asked how long the magnet had been on the car and if they ever removed it when washing the car, they said they never removed it for a year or longer.  THIS IS NOT A GOOD IDEA!  Moisture, dirt and grime can get behind the magnet over time.  While the risk to your paint is small, I think there might be a potential to damage your paint. 

So I STRONGLY ADVISE you to remove magnetic stickers occasionally and clean your paint surface or just remove them temporarily when washing your car.
