In 2000 I purchased a white gauge face set from Patrick Edwards.  This was way before iPd began making faces and shortly before I began making my own.  The price was $50.00.  I ordered a set for my '84 245.  I received the set pictured, which was for an '86-'88 240... wrong year.  I emailed Patrick and he told me to return them and he would make it right.  I returned them by registered mail with signature confirmation. A few days later I got it back again with a note from the postman stating that the parcel had been refused by the addressee.  Further attempts to contact Patrick by email and by snail mail met with no response. Shortly after this fiasco is when I decided to begin designing my own white faces.

Patrick Edwards is an irresponsible jackass and he has earned a prominent place in the Hall of Shame.

Says he sells white faced guages for the 240; I sent him a 50 dollar money order. That was over two months ago. He sent me an email saying he received it, and I'd be getting the guages in 2-3 weeks. This did not happen. I sent an email, saying I didn't get it. He sent a response saying he will send another, and that if I receive two to keep them both. Didn't get that one either. Then, I send an email saying I didn't get the damn thing. He replies with an email that they were on back order and was sending them. HOW CAN THIS BE? DIDN'T HE SEND TWO ALREADY? WERE THE TWO ON BACK ORDER?

I have yet to receive them. I am an angry sonuvabitch. I am not taking this lightly. I should have my head examined for buying something privately over the internet. Anyway, I have the guys address and his email, and I am so mad that I'm gonna take him to small claims. Luckily I saved all the emails we exchanged, including the one where he says he received the money order. Just watch out guys. I know most of you wouldn't pull this shit, so thats why I tell my story. Man, if I'm ever in texas, I'm gonna visit summer creek circle, I guarantee that........

On Sep 13, 2010, the above person placed an order for one Volvo Domed Poly Grill Badge, cost: $7.60.  He opted for Int'l First Class postage ($2.00), which is inexpensive, but not insured or tracked.  He made payment using Paypal.  He then sent a separate email asking how soon the item would ship.  I told him it would ship the next day.  It did.

Five days later I received a message from Paypal that stated Martin Davies (with the same email as above) had opened a dispute, stating he never received this item.  This was quite strange, since there had not yet been enough time for the item to reach the U.K. from the USA.  So I sent Martin an email asking about the dispute, asking why he didn't bother to contact me, and pointing out the item had only been shipped a few days earlier would not have arrived yet anyway.  His response on Sep 24, 2010 is below....

"THERE IS A DISPUTE IN PLACE FOR A REASON. NO GOODS HAVE BEEN RECIEVED THAT HAVE BEEN ORDERED AND PAID FOR. YOU ARE THE THEIF STEALING MONEX AND NOT SENDING GOODS. AND YOU ARE BREAKING COPYRIGHT LAWS TO WHICH I HAVE SPOKEN TO VOLVO SO EXPECT TO HEAR FROM THEM SOON.ANY FURTHER CONTACT NOW OR IN THE FUTURE FROM YOU OR ANY AGENT ACTING ON YOUR BEHALF BY ANY MEANS MANUALLY,ELECTRONICALLY OR TELEPHONICALLY WILL BE TREARED AS HARASSMENT. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. NOW IN PLAIN TRAILER TRASH ENGLISH FOR YOU....GO AWAY AND FUCK YOUR SISTER"

Since the item was shipped without insurance or tracking, I had no proof of delivery. Paypal fully refunded Martin's purchase.  I rely on HONEST people to make this work and to keep shipping costs down. While he claimed he never received the item, I certainly believe that to be false. Who files a dispute only a few days after ordering, before contacting the seller???   Had he emailed me (and given it time to get there), I would have just sent another badge. Martin Chalmers-Davies is a creaton of the worst sort and has earned a prominent place in the Hall of Shame.
